It's been a while since I posted, but in my defence, I had been very sick (flu) for a long time, and had zero energy. Plus, I suspect that I was starting to feel ugh not long after being in Stirling, but who knows where I caught the lurgy from. It had been going around and knocking a lot of people for six. Anyway, here's the two places B and I went to in Jul and August before I became one with my inner zombie for a while.
Almina's Kitchen is a large restaurant and when we arrived, it was already half full although it wasn't quite lunch time. We were greeted warmly by the staff, who were very kind and friendly, and shown to our table, and it was clear to me that Almina's is a very popular spot. Not just to eat in but to order from Uber Eats and Menulog. The scents coming from the kitchen were certainly very enticing, and I was looking forward to trying out what was in store for us.
I ordered the lamb shawarma plate, which was delicious. The meat was very delicately seasoned and tender, the hummus was delicious, the pita bread was perfect and the chips were actually crispy, which is such a rarity! And the chips were also well seasoned. The garlic sauce was divine, and I think I could have easily had more of that, as I was dipping chips into it along with bread and lamb. My only very mild complaint was the salad (at time of visit) did not have any dressing on it, and I'm one of these people who likes dressing on my salads.
B had the yiros on a plate, which she enjoyed as well. I also had a traditional Lebanese tea, which was amazing, with a very delicate aftertaste of mint on the palate that was a delight. I think that's the best tea I've had in a very long time. Almina's Kitchen is on a main road heading north out of the city. [Google Map Link.

Miss Perez Kitchen and Bar is in the heart of leafy Stirling in the Adelaide hills. They have a parking lot behind the restaurant, which is a very good thing as street parking is nigh impossible where they're located. When we arrived, there weren't many people there, but it was the middle of the week, so I wasn't too surprised by that. We were greeted warmly by friendly and helpful staff, the chef agreeing to my request about cutting the corn off the cob (I hate that I can't eat it on the cob, I love corn.) He did warn me that the dish would be a bit mushy, but I didn't mind, and it wasn't mushy, it was delicious and filling, along with the other small plate I ordered, the croquettes (chorizo, manchego croquettes with parmeson and garlic aioli). Delicious.
If I remember correctly (see? this is why I think I was at the very beginning of getting sick!) B had the Perez Bowl, which she enjoyed, and for drinks we both had the strawberry lemonade refresher which... another beverage I would write poetry to, if I could write poetry. It's fresh strawberries, tropical cordial, fresh lime and lemonade and was absolutely amazing.
All in all, a lovely lunch, in a very lovely location. Google Map Link
